What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?

A Medicare Advantage plan, also known as Medicare Part C, is a private health insurance plan offered by insurance companies that provides Medicare benefits to individuals who are eligible for Medicare. These plans are an alternative to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) and typically include additional coverage such as prescription drugs (Part D), vision, dental, and hearing services. Medicare Advantage plans are required to cover all the services provided by Original Medicare and may offer additional benefits.

They often have networks of doctors and hospitals that patients must use in order to receive the full benefits of the plan.
